A 13-year-old Class VIII girl from a tribal community was reportedly found three months pregnant after allegedly being sexually abused by her father and cousin. The Manjeswaram police have registered two cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested the two.
The incident came to light after the girl was taken to a doctor after she complained of severe abdominal pain. Medical examination revealed that she was three months pregnant, following which the matter was reported to the police.
According to the police, the girl was sexually abused by her cousin about a year ago. She later alleged that her father had sexually abused her most recently during Onam holidays.
