13 Automated External Defibrillators installed at Chennai airport
Chennai airport has installed 13 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) as part of a 'HeartSafe' initiative in partnership with Kauvery Hospital. The project aims to improve emergency medical response times for cardiac events within the airport premises.

Thirteen Automated External Defibrillators (AED) were inaugurated at Chennai airport on Wednesday as part of the ‘HeartSafe’ initiative of the Kauvery Hospital and Chennai airport to quickly respond to cardiac emergencies.
Raja Kishore, director, Chennai airport, said, “The installation of the Automated External Defibrillator is an important step towards strengthening our emergency medical preparedness.”
Manivannan S., founder and managing director, Kauvery Group of Hospitals, said Kauvery Hospital’s 24x7 emergency clinics are equipped with advanced medical equipment and supported by experienced emergency physicians, skilled nurses, and trained paramedics, who can respond immediately. “The addition of AEDs further strengthens our emergency response capability, enabling timely defibrillation alongside expert medical care,” he added.
