Krishnanagar police have arrested 13 people in connection with the murder of Congress leader Anisur Rahman and his son Abu Sufiyan at Nakasipara in the Nadia district of West Bengal on August 15, officials said on Thursday (August 27, 2026).
Krishnanagar SP, Atul V, stated, “A total of 13 people, including suspects from Karnataka and Odisha, have been arrested in the Nakasipara double murder and vehicles used in the crime have been seized.”
The two were killed by miscreants on a motorcycle who fired upon their vehicle at the Nakasipara railway gate. After several rounds were fired at the vehicle, the two were dragged out and hacked to death.
