13,000 students to welcome Modi with Dhimsa dance for Bhogapuram airport inaugural event
The Andhra Pradesh government is preparing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to inaugurate the Bhogapuram International Airport. Over 13,000 students are scheduled to perform a traditional dance, and extensive logistical arrangements are underway to manage the event.

The State government is gearing up to extend a grand welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the Alluri Sitarama Raju International airport in Bhogapuram, Vizianagaram district on August 1, 2026.
As part of the inaugural programme, around 13,000 children will perform the traditional tribal folk dance Dhimsa on Saturday. More than 5,000 students rehearsed at the venue on Thursday in the presence of senior officials including Special Chief Secretary M.T. Krishna Babu and Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy.
The officials directed dance instructors to fine-tune the performance and ensure its successful presentation.
Prime Minister Modis is expected to arrive in a special flight. Since the runway is fit for operations, the PM’s aircraft will land directly at the new airport, where commercials operations are scheduled to begin on August 17.
