11 persons arrested in connection with murder of prime accused in DMK functionary murder case

Dindigul police on Wednesday arrested a total of 11 persons, including a minor, in connection with the murder of Veerabadran, the prime accused in DMK functionary Murugan murder case. Veerabadran was hacked to death in broad daylight on the Dindigul-Natham highway, on Tuesday.
The special team arrested M. Moorthy, T. Balu, V. Kumaresan, J. Naveen Kumar, R. Rajasekar, R. Ramkumar, J. Little Prince Raj, R. Devaroopan Donald, J. Arockiya Jethli, G. Kathirvel and a juvenile in connection with the case within hours of the incident.
In 2025, Murugan, a licensed contractor of Dindigul Corporation, was abducted and murdered by an armed gang in a moving vehicle between Dindigul and Madurai districts. Murugan had been reportedly involved in a temple administration in Mettupatti. There were some differences over the finances.
