₹100-crore private schools ‘cheating’ case: B.T. Arasakumar challenges detention under Goondas Act

The wife of B.T. Arasakumar has filed a habeas corpus petition challenging his detention under the Goondas Act. Arasakumar is accused of orchestrating a ₹100-crore scam involving the collection of funds from private schools under the guise of securing government approvals.
A habeas corpus petition (HCP) has been filed in the Madras High Court challenging the preventive detention of B.T. Arasakumar ( 59), under the Goondas Act on the basis of a complaint accusing him of having collected around ₹100 crore from various private school managements across Tamil Nadu during the previous DMK regime.
