A 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man when she was alone at her house near Madurantakam in Chengalpattu district on Friday (September 25). Based on a complaint from her parents, the All Women Police, Melmaruvathur registered a case and launched an investigation.
Police sources said the accused was detained for questioning on Sunday and remanded in judicial custody after the inquiry.
Police sources said the survivor was alone at home when her parents had been away for a few hours to attend a relative’s function. The accused allegedly entered the house, sexually assaulted her and fled. The girl told the incident to her parents after they came back.
