The Agriculture Department has seized 1,250 bags of urea stored and repackaged without licence at a dal mill in the Kapnoor Industrial Area on the outskirts of Kalaburagi on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of department officials inspected the premises and found urea stored without the mandatory licence.
Officials said that the fertiliser has been removed from its original bags, transferred into plain white bags and mixed before being transported.
The seized stock is estimated to be worth ₹3.72 lakh, officials said.
The action follows a complaint regarding unauthorised storage and movement of fertiliser from the premises.
Officials said that inspection confirmed that the dal mill is being used for storing and handling urea without the required permission.
The raid was conducted by the team of officials comprising Deputy Director of Agriculture Balraj Rangarao, Assistant Director of Agriculture (Vigilance) Kavita and Agriculture Officer Jahangir.
