Union Bank of India, Tiruppur Region – Vellakoil Branch, on Monday, settled insurance benefits totalling ₹1.24 crore to the nominee of a Tamil Nadu Government Anganwadi worker who had died in a road accident.

Tiruppur Collector Manish Narnaware handed over the cheque to the nominee in the presence of M. Chelladurai, Regional Head, Tiruppur Region, Union Bank of India. A press release issued by the Union Bank of India said that the nominee received ₹1.20 crore under the Bank’s Personal Accident Insurance cover, without any premium, along with ₹2 lakh under PMSBY (Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana) and ₹2 lakh under RuPay ATM/Debit Card insurance cover.
